I saw this. I was wondering if Mike would be around here to post some info about it.
I was holding off as I don't know much about it really.

Nice link, should be interesting.

Huh? I think you can yeah. I see it and it worked for me. I've seen the one on Kawartha Anglers, so I know a bit about it if that's what you mean. Other wise, you lost me!

Just panfish and walleye are tagged. Musky season won't be open.

$70000 in prizes.

$10000 in gas would be great and i figure it would last me 15 months and if gas prices drop much longer, or even longer if I was only to ill up at Neejee.

I am pleased to announce the Rice Lake Spring Fishing Festival May 14-June 19, 2011.Tagged prize fish from four species (walleye, sunfish, crappie and perch)will be released into Rice Lake.

Catch a tagged fish, win a great prize!

I am also pleased to announce three free Kids Fishing Days that will take place during the festival. These events will run on Saturdays inside the larger festival and will encourage youth anglers and their families to come out and enjoy a fun day on the water.

My wife Andrea(Clearview Organizing) and I have been partnering with the Rice Lake Tourist Association over the last couple months to bring this idea into reality. It represents a positive step forward to embrace the fantastic fishery and tourism opportunities available in this region.
The RLTA and it's 40+ members are offering accommodation packages, boat rental discounts and many other exciting opportunities to make this festival as fun and accessible as possible.
We are still in the early stages of planning and we will keep updating the information as sponsors (including BFB) and other organizations become involved so please check in with the event website often to see prize listings, accommodation packages offered and participating sponsors.

If you would like more information about becoming a prize fish sponsor or about volunteering for the kids fishing days please contact Andrea or myself at:
