I'm thinking of trying to get a last fish in before the season closes on the 15th. I'm just not sure if I'll be iced in at all the launches or if I can still get the boat in the water....

I'm sure from Dave's view he'd tell me that the launch behind White's Island is frozen in as I heard today.

Yeah I wouldn't hold my breath on the whole boat launch this weekend. boating on Rice is over for 2010. This was a pic I snapped Tuesday AM. Might be hard to see in this pic, but there is NO open water that is all ice.

In fact, there was complete open water Sunday around 4pm, and by the next morning our bay was frozen over. by the next morning, it looked frozen all the way to the mouth of the river.

We were in hastings a few days ago, the river is still open near the locks, the lock is frozen, but if the water is still moving is might be ok there. I will try to snap an am pic tomorrow.

The river ( Otnb ) stopped on Wed night. Afternoon saw sheets and ice rafts but in the morning on Thurs, we had the arctic tundra look - white irregular surface.
